Description

This role is responsible for driving mission-critical construction programs from:

  • Design development through issued-for-construction
  • Procurement coordination and long-lead tracking
  • Construction execution and contractor alignment
  • Commissioning readiness and turnover
  • Closeout documentation and operational handoff

The ideal candidate is someone who can operate at both the project level and the field level – building strong relationships with owners, consultants, and contractors while maintaining control of schedule, scope, cost, and risk.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery Management

  • Serve as the primary delivery lead across assigned projects, supporting owners and internal teams through design and construction.
  • Manage multi-phase project schedules and track milestone delivery across multiple contractors and consultants.
  • Drive accountability across the project team to ensure commitments are met.
  • Coordinate cross-discipline alignment across MEP, CSA, controls, security, and commissioning.

Design Phase Oversight

  • Manage design progression and deliverables from concept through IFC.
  • Coordinate design reviews, constructability discussions, and technical decision tracking.
  • Lead agenda-driven coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure design packages reflect owner standards, operational intent, and execution realities.

Construction Execution & Field Coordination

  • Lead construction-phase coordination including:
    • Submittal and RFI tracking
    • Change management support
    • Contractor and vendor coordination
    • Schedule risk identification and mitigation
  • Support field issue resolution with urgency and clarity.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure clean communication between stakeholders.
  • Assist with procurement planning and long-lead equipment release tracking.

Commissioning, Turnover & Closeout

  • Drive commissioning readiness across disciplines by tracking:
    • Equipment status
    • Documentation readiness
    • Testing schedules
    • Open issues and deficiency resolution
  • Coordinate closeout activities including:
    • As-built documentation
    • O&M manuals
    • Training requirements
    • Turnover packages
  • Ensure projects are closed cleanly with minimal punchlist drag and full documentation compliance.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide executive-level reporting on:
    • Schedule progress
    • Risks and blockers
    • Change impacts
    • Closeout readiness
  • Maintain strong owner-facing communication and professional documentation.
  • Support internal leadership with accurate forecasting and status reporting.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • 8+ years of experience delivering complex construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects from design through construction closeout.
  • Strong understanding of construction workflows including:
    • Design milestones
    • Procurement
    • Submittals/RFIs
    • Change management
    • Commissioning and turnover
  • Experience supporting mission-critical or high-reliability environments such as:
    • Data centers
    • Secure government facilities
    • Healthcare, labs, or industrial infrastructure
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, timelines, and competing priorities.
  • Strong written communication and documentation discipline.

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Experience in mission-critical construction (data centers, hyperscale, colocation).
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems and commissioning processes.
  • Familiarity with redundancy concepts (N+1, 2N) and critical power infrastructure.
  • Procore experience (or equivalent construction management platforms).
  • Bluebeam proficiency.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar program management certification (a plus).
