Description
The Field Service Engineer safely performs product and application support, maintenance, installation, and repair of analytical instrumentation at customer sites while delivering world-class customer service.
This role supports and services the Meatmaster product line, an in-line process X-ray device used in food production environments.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Inspect, install, maintain, and repair analytical instruments at customer locations
- ~70% planned/predictive maintenance (rollers, belts, basic electronics, etc.)
- ~30% equipment installations and emergency repairs
- Train customers on software applications and proper equipment operation and maintenance
- Provide phone-based technical support and recommendations
- Complete, document, and close customer service work orders accurately
- Partner with sales and account representatives to support customer growth and service opportunities
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Strong electronics troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with some mechanical aptitude
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote, field-based role
- Excellent professional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to use hand tools, digital equipment, and read blueprints/schematics
- Strong verbal and written communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Clean driving record (no major violations in last 2 years; no DUIs in last 5 years)
- Credit sufficient to qualify for and maintain a company credit card
Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Experience with X-ray systems, automation controls, or biomedical equipment
- Prior field service experience in regulated or production environments
