Description
MUST-HAVE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:
- 5+ years of relevant electrical/testing experience
- Hands-on experience with AC/DC functional testing
- Experience testing protective relays
- Experience with medium-voltage (MV) switchgear and MV breakers
- Experience with arc-flash testing
- Experience leading or managing electrical/test technicians
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures
- Working knowledge of NEC and IEEE standards/codes
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and identifying testing/quality issues
- Ability to manage testing activities against project schedules and deadlines
- Willing and able to work hands-on in a manufacturing/testing environment
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:
- Technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field
- Experience with power distribution equipment
- Experience with HMI and communications testing
- Experience with automatic transfer switches (ATS)
- Experience creating and maintaining test procedures, test plans, and testing forms
- Experience reviewing test reports and documentation
- Experience driving quality improvement and troubleshooting initiatives
- Experience working in a data center, critical power, utility, switchgear, substation, or other mission-critical environment
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL DO
- Lead the test team supporting substation control house projects
- Manage testing activities to meet project schedules, quality requirements, and budgets
- Review project specifications, schematics, test plans, and completed test reports
- Oversee technicians performing electrical and functional testing
- Troubleshoot critical testing and quality issues
- Ensure compliance with testing standards and electrical safety requirements
- Perform and/or oversee testing of protective relays, MV switchgear, breakers, power distribution equipment, HMI/communications, ATS, and related systems
