Description
The Production Shift Foreman is responsible for leading daily production operations, supervising production personnel, ensuring product qualit standards are met, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong production, troubleshooting, and team development skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Production Leads and Production Workers.
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet output, quality, and safety goals.
- Train, mentor, and develop production employees.
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and adjust production equipment.
- Ensure compliance with PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
- Partner with Quality teams to monitor production specifications and make necessary process adjustments.
- Review production schedules, control plans, and work instructions.
- Assist with packaging operations and finished product handling.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust production equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to read and follow production schedules, procedures, and work instructions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in industrial conditions.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience in the Carbon & Graphite industry.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, mining, chemical processing, or industrial operations.
- Forklift or mobile equipment operating experience.
- Experience working with quality control procedures and production specifications.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience training and developing employees.
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing facility with exposure to dust, heat, cold, and outdoor conditions. Position requires standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and working in a physically demanding environment.
