Description

As an Electrical Drafter, you will support engineering and production teams by creating, revising, and maintaining electrical schematics, bills of materials, and visual installation documentation for electrical systems. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in electrical drafting software, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs meet technical requirements, drafting standards, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise electrical schematics, drawings, and documentation from written and verbal engineering specifications
  • Develop electrical bills of materials (BOMs) and visual installation instructions
  • Handle complex drafting and design assignments with minimal supervision
  • Work closely with Engineers to ensure accuracy, design intent, and compliance with drafting standards
  • Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to specifications

Maintain and manage all drawing revisions and document control

  • Examine engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications and design requirements
  • Provide timely technical assistance and drafting solutions to internal teams
  • Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required
  • Prepare engineering documentation for customer submittals
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Perform additional duties or assignments as designated by management

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Associate's degree in computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD), Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical drafting or design experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
  • High proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical
  • Hands-on experience with 2D electrical schematics and layouts
  • Experience using 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Working knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes and their impact on design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • AutoCAD Electrical experience
  • Basic electrical design and functional knowledge
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or power-generation-related projects
  • Prior collaboration with engineering and production teams
