Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial food production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable production operations while supporting high-speed processing and packaging systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with industrial equipment, and the ability to perform preventative maintenance in a production setting.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility support systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Work with PLCs, motor controls, conveyors, pumps, packaging lines, and electrical circuits
- Dismantle equipment, inspect components, and replace defective parts as needed
Preventative Maintenance & Reliability
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance using technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Complete work orders and accurately document repairs and maintenance activities
- Assist other maintenance team members with large-scale or complex repairs
Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA safety standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Maintain compliance with food manufacturing sanitation and safety requirement
Must-Have Qualifications
- Previous industrial maintenance or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience with industrial electrical systems, motor controls, or PLC troubleshooting
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience working with conveyors, pumps, packaging equipment, or production machinery
- Strong safety awareness and understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or on a team
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Food manufacturing experience
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- PLC programming or advanced troubleshooting experience
- CMMS/work order system experience
- Electrical certification, technical schooling, or vocational training
- Multi-craft maintenance background
- Experience in high-speed packaging or processing environment
