Description
The Service Technician supports the manufacturing of complex laser processing systems by assembling, inspecting, and testing precision optics and opto-mechanical assemblies. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong hands-on assembly skills, and the ability to use optical measurement and inspection equipment to ensure components and assemblies meet defined quality standards.
The technician will also support precision assembly operations, assist with manufacturing documentation and work instructions, provide feedback to Engineering, and complete ERP work-order documentation required for proper job processing and costing.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Technical school graduate or equivalent hands-on technical experience
- Precision mechanical, optical, or technical assembly experience
- Ability to assemble precision opto-mechanical and optical subassemblies
- Experience using optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters
- Strong proficiency with assembly hand tools and light power tools
- Ability to inspect incoming and outgoing components for quality
- Ability to test assemblies against defined specifications and standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, consistent work
- Ability to follow technical documentation and work instructions
- Ability to maintain accurate production and work-order documentation
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned work
- Ability to retain and follow communicated technical information
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates, supervisors, and Engineering
- Ability to recognize when technical guidance or supervisory assistance is required
- Ability to follow established chain-of-command procedures
