Title: Team Leader

Location: Williamsburg, VA (Onsite)

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Weekends are overtime

Compensation: $28–$33/hour + Overtime (Paid per VA law)

Role Purpose:

Reporting to a Production Supervisor, the General Operator Team Leader serves as a key link between production staff and management, ensuring that assembly operations run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with quality standards. This role is responsible for supervising a team of operators, coordinating daily tasks, and driving continuous improvement in productivity and performance. By fostering teamwork, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining high-quality output, the team leader helps achieve operational goals and supports a culture of excellence on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of general operators or assembly line workers.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor performance.
  • Ensure team members follow safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor workflow to meet production targets.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or issues on the line.
  • Report production data and issues to supervisors or managers.
  • Train new operators on equipment, procedures, and safety.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Conduct spot checks and escalate defects or inconsistencies.
  • Enforce safety protocols and use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Report and respond to incidents or hazards.
  • Act as a liaison between operators and management.
  • Communicate updates, changes in procedures, or shift goals.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives if applicable.
  • Follow the Company's Quality Control, Environmental, Health and Safety Procedures.
  • Assist in building switchgear panels using schematic, mechanical and general assembly drawings:
  • Any other duties within any associated department as requested by your Production Supervisor.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have strong EHS and housekeeping awareness.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-organised, self-motivated and able to multi-task.
  • Good aptitude for mechanical assembly.
  • Have a willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of assembly processes and machinery
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
