Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Electrician Instrument Repair Technician positions with one of the largest producers of containerboard and corrugated packaging products in the U.S.

Position Description
As an Electrical Instrument Repair Technician, you will repair, maintain, and install plant electrical, electronic, and instrumentation equipment. You must function at high levels of quality and efficiency while maintaining the highest standard of safety. Responsibilities will include:
• Perform troubleshooting duties, which involve checking, testing, and inspecting to determine cause of trouble. Make necessary repair or adjustments to correct defects. With the aid of blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, or verbal instructions perform the installation, repair, and maintenance of any and all plant electrical, electronic, and instrumentation equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections as well as walkthroughs mill-wide and make log entries.
• Direct the work of apprentices and mill personnel when assigned for a given job.
• Use applications programs to troubleshoot and repair all PLC, digital drive and DCS-based systems in the mill. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment associated with these systems.
• Use software to check out storeroom parts and enter maintenance work orders.
• Diligently practice good safety and housekeeping techniques in accordance with shop rules.

Position Details
Location: Plymouth, MI
Pay: $24-$28/hr depending on level of experience + OT
W2: $70K-80K+
Schedule: 10pm-6am | Monday – Friday, Saturdays as needed – plan on at least a couple a month

Position Requirements
• Electrical troubleshooting background.
• Motor & drive troubleshooting experience.
• 3 phase power / 480V ideal, but you won’t work on anything over 480V.
