Job Description

Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Project Manager positions with a self-performing carpentry company located in Washington DC.

Position Details
Location: Washington, DC area | Company services DMV projects from Quantico to Baltimore
Salary: $85,000 plus bonus and monthly car allowance
Reports To: Project Manager

Position Description
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for securing multiple price quotes for material, developing submittal packages, writing purchase orders, writing RFI’s, and responding to project requests. Additional responsibilities will include pricing extra work orders, scheduling deliveries, and assisting the project managers to meet deadlines and assist with project execution. Duties will include:
• Layout/surveying work.
• Assist with quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors as delegated by the Project and Area Superintendents.
• Coordinate material deliveries by checking requirements in advance and comparing with the delivery status.
• Verify materials delivered to the job and check for missing and/or damaged items.
• Assist Foremen with interpretation of plans and specifications.

Position Requirements
• Responsible, proven leaders/performers.
• Someone that is looking to make an impact immediately, isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty when needed, and has the drive/integrity to see the job through the right time the first time.
• Experience in construction is preferred, but not a hard requirement, and the company will happily invest in the training needed, both themselves and through their preferred contractor.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred and ideally, at least 5 years’ experience in hands-on technical leadership.
• Experience working in a fast paced, innovative environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think outside the box.
