Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role supports safe and efficient plant operations by maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and utility systems while assisting with equipment installations and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is ideal for experienced industrial maintenance technicians, millwrights, electricians, mechanics, or military technicians who enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment, working in a manufacturing environment, and continuously expanding their technical skills.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to continually develop technical skills.
  • Ability to pass mechanical comprehension and hands-on maintenance assessments.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Blueprints
    • Schematics
    • Technical manuals
    • Layout drawings
  • Ability to perform shop math and technical calculations.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 55 pounds and work in industrial environments, including heights and confined spaces.

Requirements:
  • Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and utility systems.
  • Assist with new equipment installations and special projects.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status.
  • Safely use maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Support contract maintenance personnel and mentor less experienced technicians.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Assist with additional facility maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, housekeeping, and snow removal as needed.
  • Support production during operational recovery situations.

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Hydraulics
  • Pipe fitting (threaded, glued, valves, actuators, natural gas, ammonia, hydrogen, nitrogen)
  • Millwright work (pumps, valves, alignments)
  • Structural welding
  • Industrial electrical systems (120V-480V)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD/VSD) installation and troubleshooting
  • Instrumentation setup and calibration
  • DCS wiring and basic PLC troubleshooting
  • Utility systems including:
    • Air compressors
    • Cooling towers
    • Chillers
    • Boilers
  • Military maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, utilities, or industrial systems.
