Description

The company is seeking a skilled and motivated Bed Technician to support healthcare facilities by installing, maintaining, and repairing hospital beds and related patient support equipment.
This is a field-based, customer-facing role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and professionalism in healthcare environments. Technicians play a critical role in ensuring medical equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant to support patient care operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hospital beds and patient support equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical issues and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety and manufacturer standards
  • Replace components including actuators, control boards, casters, motors, pendant controls, and frame assemblies
  • Complete detailed service documentation using mobile devices or service software
  • Provide professional customer service to hospital staff and facility management
  • Manage parts inventory and maintain company-provided tools and service vehicle
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment
  • Comfortable working in hospital and healthcare environments
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs (with assistance)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Strong communication and customer service skills


Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • 1+ year of mechanical, biomedical, or field service experience
  • Experience servicing hospital beds, stretchers, or medical equipment
  • Low-voltage electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) background
  • Military mechanical or electrical experience
