Description

The Pipeline Maintenance Technician II is responsible for supporting the safe and reliable operation of pipeline systems through hands-on maintenance, repairs, inspections, pipeline locating, and emergency-response activities. This field-based position supports mainline piping, terminals, station facilities, pipeline valves, rights-of-way, and related equipment.
The technician will work independently and coordinate with operations, engineering, contractors, landowners, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities also include responding to pipeline emergencies, monitoring third-party excavation activities, supporting measurement activities, issuing work permits, overseeing contractors, and completing required reports and documentation. This is a safety-critical, DOT-designated position requiring significant travel and flexibility for emergency response and changing operational requirements.


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2+ years of relevant maintenance, operations, mechanical, pipeline, or similar hands-on experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Hands-on maintenance and repair experience
  • Ability to perform routine and emergency maintenance on piping, terminals, stations, or similar industrial equipment
  • Ability to inspect, operate, and maintain valves and related equipment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental protection
  • Ability to understand and follow technical instructions, procedures, and operating guidelines
  • Ability to perform pipeline locates and support one-call activities
  • Ability to monitor third-party excavation activities
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations
  • Ability to support containment, repair, cleanup, and preventative actions during pipeline emergencies
  • Ability to issue work permits and oversee contractor activities
  • Ability to coordinate with operations, engineering, contractors, landowners, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to provide field leadership when required
  • Ability to complete required documentation and routine reports
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75%, including frequent overnight stays
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and emergency callouts
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours and in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to meet DOT-designated and safety-critical position requirements
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, push, pull, stand, and walk as required

  • Ability to reside within approximately 25 miles of Monahans or Three Rivers, TX, unless otherwise approved by management
