Description
As an Electrical Integration Technician, you will support the design, installation, testing, and integration of electrical systems for power generation and industrial equipment prior to shipment. This role requires strong schematic interpretation skills, hands-on control wiring experience, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies before delivery. You will work closely with Electrical Integration Engineers and provide technical leadership and training to electricians to ensure consistent, high-quality electrical builds.
Responsibilities
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and engineering drawings
- Install, integrate, and test electrical control systems in accordance with product drawings and specifications
- Properly test and inspect each unit prior to shipment; identify and correct errors or defects
- Work closely with Electrical Integration Engineers to support system design and layout
- Identify and resolve discrepancies with customers prior to ship date
- Provide leadership and guidance on standardized electrical layout and enclosure design practices
- Train and mentor electricians on schematic reading, installation methods, testing procedures, and labeling standards
- Deliver on-the-job technical training focused on safe equipment operation, proper tool usage, and best work practices
- Develop elevation drawings of electrical installations for replication and customer documentation
- Utilize electrical test equipment to perform functional, continuity, and indication testing
- Perform additional duties or assignments as designated by supervisors or management
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electrical design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering blueprints
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeter, ammeter, functional testing tools)
- Solid understanding of electrical theory, best practices, and industrial installation standards
- General working knowledge of generators and power generation systems
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions accurately
- Excellent professional communication and collaboration skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- AutoCAD experience
- Formal technical training from an accredited electrical, diesel, or gas engine program
- Military background with power generation, electrical integration, or equipment service experience
- Experience supporting enclosure-based electrical systems or integrated power equipment
