Description

We are seeking a skilled Facility Operations Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical infrastructure within a high-performance computing and data center environment. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance of electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems that support mission-critical equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, experience with critical facility systems, and a commitment to maintaining high uptime and operational standards.


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • 3+ years of experience working in critical facilities, data centers, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical environments
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving power distribution, HVAC systems, and facility equipment
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and building management systems (BMS)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-availability environment


Requirements

  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical facility infrastructure including electrical distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, and cooling equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Respond to alarms, outages, and emergency situations to minimize downtime
  • Support operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, and environmental systems
  • Maintain maintenance logs and operational documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for installations, repairs, and upgrades
  • Assist with capacity planning, system optimization, and reliability improvements
  • Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements in a critical infrastructure environment
  • Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response support when required


Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Experience working in data center or high-performance computing environments
  • Knowledge of UPS systems, switchgear, PDUs, ATS/STS, generators, and electrical distribution
  • Experience working with cooling infrastructure such as chillers, pumps, and HVAC systems
  • Technical certification, trade school training, or military technical training related to electrical, mechanical, or facilities maintenance
