Description


The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting support for semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites. This role involves working in cleanroom environments and supporting equipment performance through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and corrective actions.
The position includes hands-on technical work, on-the-job training, and collaboration with experienced engineers to develop expertise in equipment installation, repair, and system optimization. The engineer will also interact directly with customers to ensure satisfaction and maintain strong working relationships.


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or equivalent military training in electronics, engineering, or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
• Ability to interpret operation manuals and identify root causes of equipment failures
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work in confined spaces and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, stooping, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Ability to work in cleanroom environments while wearing appropriate safety equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment


Requirements
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor equipment at customer sites
• Assist with installation, start-up, relocation, and commissioning of equipment under supervision
• Diagnose equipment issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
• Replace defective components and maintain system functionality
• Complete assignments with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Follow company procedures and safety standards at customer sites
• Participate in on-the-job training and shadow experienced engineers
• Maintain current knowledge of equipment through training, manuals, and technical resources
• Execute assigned project tasks under supervision
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams
• Represent the organization professionally at customer sites


Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools
• Prior experience working in the electronics or semiconductor industry
