Description
As a Field Service Technician, you will serve as a key frontline representative supporting customer equipment in the field. You will lead start-ups, commissioning, emergency service calls, and scheduled preventative maintenance for customer equipment across assigned territories.
This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, customer interaction, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments. When not traveling, you will support quality control inspections prior to shipment and provide technical phone support from company headquarters.
Successful performance and proficiency on company systems will lead to increased responsibility and advancement opportunities following completion of the Technician Development Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead equipment start-ups and commissioning at customer locations
- Perform emergency service and scheduled preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues
- Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance best practices
- Communicate and coordinate with customers to resolve equipment challenges
- Ensure equipment remains fully operational through proactive maintenance
- Perform quality control inspections prior to equipment shipment
- Provide technical phone support when working from headquarters
- Maintain accurate documentation and service communication
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical aptitude
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable training customers and working directly with end users
- Self-starter capable of working independently in the field
Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Experience with PLC logic development or troubleshooting
- (PLC training and certification provided if needed)
Training Program
- 6-month Technician Development Program at company Louisville headquarters
- Hands-on training building and learning equipment systems
- PLC school included with certification in PLC programming and troubleshooting
- During training:
- Apartment and rental car provided
- Travel home every other weekend paid (up to 12 hours of paid travel time)
- Upon certification, technicians are promoted to exempt salaried roles with additional compensation for extended hours and weekend work
