Description
The Field Service Technician provides world-class technical support to customers through equipment start-ups, audits, preventive maintenance, repairs, and customer training. Supported technologies include X-ray inspection systems, metal detectors, checkweighers, and vision inspection equipment.
This role manages all aspects of field service delivery, including customer communication, scheduling, documentation, and adherence to established service procedures and best practices. The technician serves as a trusted advisor to customers while ensuring safety, efficiency, and first-time fix performance.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to identify root cause of equipment issues and resolve efficiently
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
- Strong written communication skills for service documentation and reporting
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and after-hours as required
- Ability to maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and inventory
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (70–80%)
Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Associate degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology
- Experience servicing industrial inspection, automation, or packaging equipment
- Background in food, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Military technical training or equivalent hands-on experience
