Description
The Test Technician and Build Technician supports the functional, environmental, and qualification testing of next-generation aerospace hardware. This is a hands-on lab-based role working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to influence product design early in the development lifecycle. The technician will execute test procedures, support lab infrastructure development, and assist with building and troubleshooting test fixtures to ensure products meet performance and certification requirements.
This role supports testing across multiple product types, including electronics/avionics, motion control systems, hydraulics, and power electronics, and contributes directly to shaping qualification strategies in a modern, integrated test environment.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Hands-on experience with aerospace or defense hardware testing
- Experience supporting functional testing (ATP) and qualification testing, including environmental, shock, and vibration testing
- Experience setting up, executing, and troubleshooting tests in a laboratory environment
- Ability to execute defined test methods and procedures aligned to certification or end-use requirements
- Experience building and troubleshooting test fixtures and test setups
- Familiarity with environmental test equipment and lab commissioning activities
- Ability to work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams in a collaborative environment
- Working knowledge of aerospace and defense test standards, including:
- DO-160
- MIL-STD-810
- MIL-STD-202
- Working familiarity with CAD systems, PDM tools, and GD&T
- Strong attention to detail and documentation practices
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person)
Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Experience supporting early prototype testing through full qualification
- Exposure to avionics, electromechanical systems, or power electronics testing
- Experience supporting lab buildouts or commissioning of new test infrastructure
- Background in highly cross-functional engineering environments
