Description
A leading advanced manufacturing facility is seeking an Instrumentation Associate / Controls Technician to support process control systems and automation across production operations. This role is focused on PLC troubleshooting, controls support, and instrumentation maintenance in a high-performance industrial environment.
This is a highly technical, hands-on position supporting complex systems, with strong collaboration between Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams.

What You'll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems
- Perform PLC program edits, resets, and installations, including ladder logic troubleshooting
- Support and maintain Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems
- Provide advanced troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum systems
- Assist maintenance teams in resolving complex process and control issues
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation
- Coordinate and implement software and firmware updates in line with configuration control procedures
- Develop and document standard procedures (TES) for instrumentation and controls systems
- Support calibration and minor repairs of instrumentation and inspection equipment
- Act as a liaison between Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering
- Provide training and technical guidance to maintenance personnel
- Respond to equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or equivalent military training preferred
- Strong PLC troubleshooting experience required, including:
- Ladder logic
- Program editing and uploads/downloads
- System resets and fault recovery
- Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of:
- Industrial electrical systems
- Process controls and instrumentation
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
- Ability to read and work from complex schematics and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-responsibility role
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay: $30.76/hour
- Overtime (1.5x after 8 hours) – built into 12-hour schedule
- $2/hour shift differential (nights)
- Annual earnings: $82K+ minimum expected
