Description
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, diagnostics, installation, startup, and equipment qualification. This position focuses on resolving equipment issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring reliable equipment performance while providing high-quality technical support to customers.
The Field Service Engineer will diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine corrective actions, support equipment installations and relocations, maintain current technical knowledge, and complete assigned project tasks. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a cleanroom environment while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Relevant associate's or bachelor's degree with 2+ years of technical experience, OR 5+ years of direct relevant experience without a related degree
- Hands-on equipment maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, or field service experience
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on technical equipment
- Strong equipment troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Ability to escalate complex technical issues when necessary
- Ability to support equipment installation, relocation, startup, and qualification activities
- Ability to maintain current technical knowledge of assigned equipment and systems
- Ability to complete assigned technical and project-related tasks
- Cleanroom experience
- Ability to perform physical work while wearing required cleanroom and protective clothing
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to provide on-site technical instruction as needed
- Ability to follow customer-site safety policies and procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including overnight and international travel
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
- Existing authorization to work in the United States
