Description
The Equipment Engineer is responsible for maintenance, repair, and reliability of semiconductor fabrication equipment. This role supports production by ensuring equipment uptime, coordinating maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The engineer will work closely with technicians and other engineers, providing technical leadership, troubleshooting support, and managing equipment performance, upgrades, and documentation.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment or equivalent military electronics training
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to perform hands-on technical work on semiconductor equipment

• Coach and support maintenance personnel in performing preventive maintenance
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules
• Perform equipment troubleshooting and repair support
• Monitor equipment downtime, failure modes, and spare parts inventory
• Oversee equipment modifications, upgrades, and installations
• Interface with vendors and contractors for maintenance and equipment improvements
• Create and maintain technical documentation including maintenance procedures
• Support production teams to maintain equipment uptime
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and equipment optimization
• Perform analysis such as FMEA and equipment fingerprinting
• Support new equipment purchases and installation specifications
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules
• Perform equipment troubleshooting and repair support
