Description

Derbyshire Marine Products is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Material Handler to support manufacturing and distribution operations. This role is essential to ensuring the accurate, efficient, and safe movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the facility. For the right individual, this position offers the opportunity to grow and expand skill sets, including exposure to product assembly and testing.

About the Role

As a Warehouse Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, staging, and delivering materials to support production and shipping operations. You will work closely with production, quality, and logistics teams to maintain smooth material flow while upholding safety, accuracy, and housekeeping standards.

What You'll Do

  • Receive incoming shipments; verify quantities and inspect materials for damage or defects
  • Accurately document material receipts, transfers, and inventory movements
  • Stage and deliver raw materials to production lines per work orders and schedules
  • Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment
  • Prepare and stage finished goods for outbound shipments
  • Maintain organized storage areas with proper labeling and security
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation
  • Deliver and pick up items locally using a company truck

General Responsibilities:

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards
  • Communicate effectively with production, quality, and logistics teams
  • Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or safety hazards promptly
  • Perform general warehouse cleaning, trash removal, and light maintenance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • 1-2 years of experience in warehousing, material handling, or manufacturing (preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Forklift or powered industrial truck certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience with inventory management systems
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or production support environments

Work Schedule:

  • 48-hour work week (includes 8 hours of overtime)
  • Monday-Thursday: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
