Description
The Mechanical Engineer II will support the design, integration, and production of mechanically complex systems in a fast-paced, high-accountability engineering environment. This role focuses on designing mechanical components and assemblies, defining and maintaining mechanical interfaces, and supporting production through tooling and fixture design. The engineer will collaborate closely with electrical, layout, and manufacturing teams to ensure proper packaging, alignment, and structural integrity of assemblies. Responsibilities include creating detailed 3D models and drawings, participating in design reviews and trade studies, supporting vendor and manufacturing process evaluations, and driving assigned design tasks or subprojects to completion with minimal oversight while contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes and documentation.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 2–5 years of mechanical design or product development experience
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and drawing creation
• Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals including tolerancing, materials, structural design, and manufacturability
• Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams, particularly with electrical engineering partners
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to work effectively under tight timelines
• 2–5 years of mechanical design or product development experience
