Manufacturing Engineering Specialist (MES)

About the Role
Precision Custom Components (PCC) is a leading manufacturer of energy-related and industrial equipment, serving defense, nuclear, government, and commercial customers. PCC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist (MES) to develop and implement detailed work instruction packages, ensure manufacturability, and support project execution across complex production environments.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured, high-accountability manufacturing environments, enjoys problem-solving, and has a strong understanding of industrial processes, tooling, and workflow optimization.
What You'll Do
- Develop and prepare detailed work instruction packages from manufacturing outlines or drawings
- Coordinate preliminary manufacturing plans, identifying required resources and tooling
- Determine manufacturing feasibility and recommend technical changes to customers and internal teams
- Interface with Project Engineers, Quality Engineers, Weld Engineers, and Design Engineers to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
- Incorporate and finalize work instruction packages, obtaining approvals as required
- Deliver completed work instructions to Production Control and support implementation on the shop floor
- Provide technical support for manufacturing problem resolution, process enhancements, and cost-effective process improvements
- Estimate operation hours and maintain accurate documentation for production planning
- Recommend improvements to workflows, work instructions, and manufacturing methods based on shop load and equipment availability
- Mentor and train less-experienced personnel in proper manufacturing documentation practice
Must-Have Skills and Experience
- High school or trade school diploma required; associate degree or apprenticeship in engineering/manufacturing preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and workflow optimization
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience developing work instructions for heavy fabrication, welding, or machined components
- Familiarity with ASME or other industry manufacturing standards
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
- Knowledge of process planning, production scheduling, and cost estimation

Additional Details
- Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year
- Work Location: On-site (In Person)
