Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and Hashrate teams on troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of plant equipment.
- Utilize predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic inspection, to monitor equipment health and prevent failures.
- Lead heat rate improvement initiatives to reduce fuel consumption through system analysis and implementation of best practices.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage maintenance schedules, outages, and capital projects; oversee vendor selection, contracts, and execution.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including drawings, system descriptions, and control narratives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and incident investigations; assess equipment condition to support maintenance planning.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental standards and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in power generation or industrial plant engineering preferred.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and physical exam.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with CMMS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools.
- Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, NFPA, and other codes and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, flow diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Experience with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Knowledge of electrical and process control systems (PLCs, DCS) and mechanical systems (turbines, pumps, boilers, compressors, valves).
- Project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA safety and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Project.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, electrical hazards, toxic or caustic chemicals, and high noise levels (hearing protection required).
