Description
The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between customers, sales, onsite crews, and internal shop departments. The primary focus is maximizing customer service by establishing accurate project dates, maintaining clear and timely communication, and tracking projects from initial purchase order through production, shipment, and onsite execution.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating milestones across multiple departments, monitoring engineering releases and purchasing activities, tracking field progress and labor, and identifying schedule risks before they impact customer commitments. The Project Manager will also support onsite crews, evaluate project quality and performance, and coordinate manpower and resources to keep projects on schedule.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Project management, project coordination, scheduling, or related experience
- Strong customer-service and customer-relationship skills
- Ability to serve as the primary liaison between customers, sales, onsite crews, and internal departments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish, manage, and track detailed project schedules and milestone dates

- Ability to track project labor hours and supply-house trips
- Ability to coach crew chiefs on schedule performance and project execution
- Ability to evaluate crew chiefs and field crews
- Ability to perform quality checks on equipment associated with assigned projects
- Ability to ensure accurate and timely completion of daily project reports
- Ability to coordinate with other Project Managers on manpower scheduling
- Ability to work effectively across sales, engineering, purchasing, production, shop, and field-service functions
- Strong organizational, planning, prioritization, and follow-through skills
- Ability to manage multiple project activities and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to work primarily from the Lynchburg, VA office
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the United States approximately 30% of the time
