Description

Seeking a hands-on Technician II to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and maintain diesel engines, heavy-duty transmissions, generators, and related equipment used in trucks, buses, and industrial power systems. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined technicians with strong troubleshooting skills and experience using electronic diagnostic tools in a fast-paced service environment.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • 2-3 years of hands-on diesel, generator, heavy equipment, or power systems maintenance experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills
  • Experience using electronic diagnostic tools and repair software
  • Ability to perform repairs independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working on diesel engines, transmissions, generators, or related heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, repair manuals, and technical procedures
  • Comfortable working around moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and loud shop environments
  • Strong safety mindset and ability to follow OSHA/EPA guidelines
  • Basic computer skills for documenting repairs and parts usage

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Technical school certification in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment, Power Generation, or related field
  • Generator maintenance and repair experience
  • Experience with Cummins, CAT, Detroit Diesel, or similar OEM equipment
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting and control systems
  • Previous field service or mobile technician experience
  • CDL or ability to obtain one
  • Military mechanical experience (Power Generation, Wheeled Vehicle, Diesel, Generator, or Heavy Equipment backgrounds highly transferable)

Work Environment

  • Shop and field-based work environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, vibration, heat, cold, and outdoor conditions
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, lifting, and use of hand tools
