LM Gill is a Naval Defense manufacturing company located in Manchester, CT. Due to increased Department of Defense (DOD) spending, we are expecting substantial growth and looking to hire accordingly. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring our manufacturing infrastructure is efficient, cost-effective, and safe. No recruiters please.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret customer requirements and develop, with the support of programming and planning, manufacturing plans for part and assembly production
- Create and maintain revision-controlled engineering documents to support manufacturing processes
- Create and edit process traveler/routing sheets
- Use SolidWorks to provide manufacturing support
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems to return to plan as quickly and cost effectively as possible (working with all internal departments, outside vendors and our customers to achieve this goal)
- Occasionally assist in performing internal quality audits
Qualifications:
- Use of ERP systems for engineering and manufacturing purposes (for example: Epicor)
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficiency with SolidWorks
- Understanding of machining processes and equipment
- Experience with the machining of weldments, forgings and castings
- Experience with NDT (VT, LP, RT, UT)
- Previous experience with ISO/AS quality systems.
