Description

As a Wind Turbine Technician I, you will support the safe operation and maintenance of wind turbines and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment at the Cedar Point Wind Facility. This is an entry-level role, working under the guidance of Lead Wind Turbine Technicians to perform routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, inspections, and unscheduled work with a focus on improving turbine uptime and energy production.

You will operate in a safety-critical environment, adhering to Enbridge's strong safety culture while developing technical skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbines and BOP equipment
  • Support basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on turbine systems
  • Assist with asset integrity inspections and unscheduled maintenance work
  • Support electrical switching operations on turbines
  • Utilize SCADA systems to support operations and maintenance activities
  • Follow structured problem-solving processes using diagnostic tools (e.g., fluke meters)
  • Interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings and schematics
  • Enter maintenance data into the Maximo Maintenance Management System
  • Consistently follow electrical safety, LOTO, working-at-heights, confined space, and hazardous energy protocols
  • Actively participate in required safety and technical training programs

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ~1 year of relevant technical or industrial experience (wind experience not required)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows applications)
  • Understanding of basic industrial safety practices, including LOTO
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a Passport
  • Ability to complete required training (first aid, CPR/AED, climb & rescue, confined space)
  • Ability to pass background screening, medical exam, and drug testing

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Prior exposure to wind, power generation, or industrial maintenance environments
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems or CMMS platforms
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and safety-first mindset
  • Interest in building a long-term career in renewable energy
