Description
After completing a 2+ month training program, the Field Service Engineer will provide on-site service support for heavy-duty mobile lifting equipment across the United States and Canada. This role is highly hands-on and travel-intensive, requiring strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills, customer interaction, and independence in the field.
You will repair, inspect, and support mobile lift systems while managing your own travel logistics and maintaining strong customer relationships. This position also includes technical phone support and opportunities to earn commission through parts and service sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site service and technical support for mobile lifting equipment nationwide and in Canada
- Repair mobile column lifts at customer sites (electrical and mechanical)
- Perform annual inspections and complete certificates of inspection
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues both onsite and via phone support
- Complete all service documentation, job paperwork, and expense reports accurately and timely
- Schedule and manage own flights, hotels, and rental vehicles
- Communicate regularly with customers and internal teams via phone and email
- Support parts and service sales activities
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- Strong mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with electrical systems up to 3-phase, 480 VAC
- Some experience with controls and/or PLCs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to fly domestically and internationally (U.S. and Canada)
- Valid passport required at start (initial training in France)
- Strong customer service, professionalism, and presentation skills
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, communication tools, file sharing platforms)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Proven ability to work independently in a travel-heavy field role
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with lifts or hoists
- Background in parts and service sales
- Experience in administrative or support roles in addition to technical work
