Position Description

The Electro-mechanical Technician is responsible for performing all mechanical and electrical maintenance on process and general facility equipment. This includes corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and repairing production machines and systems to maximize uptime. The technician will collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production Supervisors, and other staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on production-related equipment
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and install mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Maintain proper and safe operation of all production machine systems
  • Repair manufacturing equipment such as wrappers, mixers, and motors
  • Install control and distribution apparatus, switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels
  • Connect power cables and grounding leads to equipment
  • Ensure equipment operates in excellent condition
  • Comply with environmental and safety standards and plant policies

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of basic safety procedures
  • Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform job layouts for electrical circuitry and devices
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass a pre-employment skills test (e.g., Ramsey Test)

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
  • Technical school degree or military equivalent
  • Maintenance experience with conveyor systems, palletizing systems, furnaces, or ovens
