• Installs, modifies, and repairs mechanical test head positioning and interfacing equipment, and provides technical assistance and training to customers and end users by performing the following duties:
• Coordinate technical services between customers, engineering, field service, and manufacturing.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues within the scope of training and authorization, using technical drawings and established troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide remote and on-site technical assistance, including operator instructions, customer training, and basic equipment care.
• Install, inspect, adjust, maintain, modify, and repair equipment, including test head manipulators, prober stations, test head stands, and mechanical interfacing equipment, at customer locations.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding system operation and diagnose equipment problems.
• Serve as a point of contact for service-related telephone calls and email correspondence.
• Develop and maintain relationships with test floor managers and other key customer and end-user contacts.
• Follow customer-site safety rules, equipment procedures, and applicable cleanroom or site-entry requirements. Stop work when necessary and report unsafe conditions.
• Provide updates on service status and completion to management and/or customers through email, messaging applications, or in-person communication.
• Create and maintain accurate service reports and RAM reports within the company application, documenting findings, work performed, parts used, and resolutions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and expenses related to business travel.
• Work closely with the sales team to identify and explore new market opportunities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Be able and willing to travel frequently.
• Assist the production floor when not performing field service responsibilities.

• Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies and functionality.
• General experience using manual and power tools.
• Familiarity with OQC procedures and standards.
• Knowledge of production methods and assembly procedures.
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and a working bill of materials.
• Bachelor's degree, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

We're looking for a Field Tool Technician to join our Application Engineering organization in the Southwest. In this role, you'll apply your technical knowledge, communication, and problem-solving skills to provide on-site tool support, maintenance and consulting services at customer facilities across your territory.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN

• Train customer personnel on proper tool operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
• Independently coordinate and schedule customer visits based on availability and customer requirements, and maintain relationships with the independent customers you support.
• Provide onsite consulting to customers on tool operation and shop setup to maximize tool productivity.
• Provide on-site tool support and maintenance at customer facilities, learning and understanding the line of tools, equipment, and specialized instruments used at customer locations.
• Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on customer tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
• Respond to customer service calls for tool malfunctions, providing expert diagnosis and repair solutions at customer facilities.
• Perform on-site calibration, testing, and commissioning of newly installed tools and equipment.
• Conduct warranty evaluations and repairs of tools and equipment at customer sites, ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations.
• Maintain customer tool inventories and service records; prepare detailed service reports and recommendations for customers.
• Maintain professional customer relationships and provide technical consultation on tool applications and best practices.
• Follow all safety requirements and procedures, and participate in safety reviews.
