Shift Supervisor

Midwest
US Air Force, O-3

I separated under a reduction-in-force program, so my transition was fast, and I did not have as much time as most to begin the job search process. I had been on the job hunt for over a year and had been working a temporary job to help make ends meet. It was a difficult year for me and my family, but when I finally contacted Orion, I was impressed by the opportunities for interviews and general help with the process. I had had several interviews over that past year, but no offers, so the frustration level was high by the time I got to Orion. I didn't harbor a whole lot of optimism that my streak would change, but I did get my chance, and I now have a new career!

I will be employed as a shift supervisor in the order fulfillment section of an Avon distribution center. I see many parallels between my military career as an airborne intelligence officer in the Air Force and my new career, including teamwork, relationship building, leading a diverse group of people, and having the opportunities to excel and advance with hard work.

I worked with Josh Williamson, Todd Phillips, and Shane Bishop at Orion, and I had nothing but positivity from all of them. They worked with me to identify what I was looking for and helped me to find the right position. I liked the fact that I got to work with other vets who knew what I was going through. I'd like to give a big Bravo Zulu to Todd, Josh, and Shane for the opportunities and for helping me find my new career after the military.
