QCS Project Engineer

Midwest
US Navy, E-4

I got out of the military in 2001, but it was not until I was laid off earlier this year that I turned to Orion. My recruiter was Todd Phillips, and I feel he is a top-notch performer.  He followed up with me at all points in the process and helped me tailor my resume and talking point highlights to what he believed the employer wanted to see. As evidenced by the job offer, I would say he was right on.

Both Todd and Rob Gumpper ensured that I was properly matched with my interviews and that I could articulate my skills and qualifications throughout the interview process.  They also gave me feedback once the interviews were completed.

I worked with a couple other recruiting firms, and I would have to rate their performance as poor. It was tough getting callbacks, emails took several days to get a response (if I got one at all), and the leads were few and far between.  My location requests were also largely ignored.  Orion got me where I wanted, the career path I wanted, and with pay greater than I was initially asking for. I feel like Orion helped me get my career back on track after a couple of layoffs derailed it.

In a very competitive environment, Orion guided me every step of the way.  Then went through my resume, helped me make some changes, went over employer specifics, and updated me with all of the information they had, as soon as they had it.  I would recommend Orion to any veteran, whether recently separated, or if they've been out for a while, as was the case with me.
