Director of Energy Engineering

Northeast
US Navy, O-3

My cousin and classmate used Orion International successfully in his transition out of the Navy and recommended I look into what they offered.  Marin Jakawich was my recruiter and was a great help in looking into what I was interested in doing, not just where I might be able to be employed.

Marin listened, and, even though, my preferred field was narrow, did her best to help connect me with the right positions. She set me up early on to attend one of the Distinguished Candidate Hiring Conferences in Baltimore, where I began the hiring process with my current company.

My current position is Director of Energy Engineering. I think that the military has prepared me for my new career. Many military members, including myself, possess successful military records and have held positions of considerable responsibility. Military members are capable of being given tasks with little to no direction and can be trusted to take appropriate action to plan, coordinate, and execute its accomplishment. This is a trait I think any transitioning military officer or senior NCO should emphasize.

I could not be any happier with Orion. I love my job, the team, and the unique challenges offered by the world of commercial building energy efficiency.
