Field Service Engineer

Northeast
US Navy, E-4

I was referred to Orion by my good friend and supervisor in the Navy, and I have nothing but good things to say about Orion. My recruiter, Matt Clingon, is a great guy. He was always up front about everything he had to say, and he worked hard to get me where I am. I know I did the leg work, but I couldn't have done it without him.

I am a Field Service Engineer working for Tokyo Electron Limited. The similarities are many. I was an E-4/ Navy Electronics Technician and feel my strong electronics background coupled with my industrial (Aircraft Carrier) experience made me a good fit to jump into the semiconductor field. I work in the IBM323 FAB located in Fishkill, which (minus the clean environment) reminds me very much of the Aircraft carrier I was on. The 323 FAB is no ship, but the industrial feel is ever present with the 24/7 operation and people constantly employed.

I'd like to thank recruiters Matt and Tony Hoffman, as well as John Collins, for all the work they did getting me placed and going the extra mile for me. They put up with my persistent phone calls and gave me the tools for success. Those tools were good interview techniques, coaching, confidence in myself and my qualifications, and the representation to the companies I was trying to work for. Without them, I'd still be working part time in a liquor store.
