Maintenance Supervisor

West
US Navy,

Bob Berkholz was my recruiter. He treated me very well, was constantly involved, and was a great source for advice.  I even asked about advice on what job I should take (I got multiple offers), and he didn't just say ‘go with this job’; he gave good points about what I needed to think about for picking the right job.

Orion’s hiring conferences are great.  You get a chance to not only see multiple companies from a plethora of industries, but you get the chance to interview with them all at the same time and compare them side-by-side to determine which one fits you best.

My military background as a Lieutenant in the Navy gave me a great jump for operational execution.  The military op tempo put me head and shoulder above civilian peers.  Very few people are running complex evolutions with large teams like we do every day in the military. I’m now using that experience as a Maintenance Supervisor for Owens Corning.

I am very happy with Orion and how, unlike other recruiters I have worked with in the past, they make a strong effort meet my desires (geography, industry, salary).  Orion wants to get you into the right job for you.

I would like to pass on one piece of advice, and that is if your Orion recruiter sets you up with an interview, go to the interview even if the company isn't one you would pick for yourself.  The Orion team gets people hired in all of these companies, and they have a good feel for where your experience can be used.  I interviewed with companies that would not have even been on my list and was impressed in the interview by the people and opportunities presented.
