Key Account Manager

Midwest
US Army, O-3

I left the military in 2005 and started looking for a job thereafter. I was initially placed through another JMO recruiting agency but later left that job. After trying my hand in the pharmaceutical field, I reached out online to Orion and began working with Todd Phillips.

Todd always checked in with me to make sure that any job I thought I wanted to interview for was indeed a good fit for me.  There was no pressure to just jump on the first interview offer.  Todd and DJ Holder worked with me through every interview, and there were seven!

I am now a Key Account Manager for a food service equipment company.  I see a lot of parallels between my new job and that I held in the military. They include an understanding of my manager’s intent and knowing when and how to act regardless of supervision, caring for everyone up and down the chain of command, and working for the ‘we’ in every situation.  Also, I'm in sales now, and I never realized how much you are selling yourself in the military—to your men and your commanders every day.  If you have a great idea and you have enough intelligence, make your case and act on it.

Orion beats all the competition! They can offer the same amount of company contact, but they don't make you sign on exclusively with them. I would recommend Orion to anyone leaving the military.
