Group Leader

Midwest
US Army, E-5

When I approached Todd Phillips to introduce myself, we spoke and found that he and I were both from the Artillery Branch of the Army. I told him I was a 13F, and he knew exactly what I was trained and capable of doing. He set up and invited me to an interview with Polaris the following day. I arrived early, and Todd and Austin Beaty gave me great advice and coached me on interview technique. After the interview, Todd conducted an exit interview and said he would be in contact.

I spoke to Todd about a week later, and he told me that Polaris really liked me and wanted to have a second interview. Over the next week, I stayed in contact with him and he coached me more. I flew up and did a panel interview with all of the lead Supervisors for three hours. A week went by, and I called Todd to check if he had heard anything. He had just gotten off of the phone with them, and he said they had not called because the supervisors were still arguing over who would get me in there department!

Todd told me I had done extremely well, and they would call the next day. Polaris then called and offered me a position. The following day I accepted. Todd really helped as the go-between. Without having Orion, I do not think the position offered would have happened when it did. Orion helped me get to the “front”. of the line instead of having to wait for an H.R. manager to wade through all the other potential employees.

I am excited to work for a company that likes to promote from within. This gives me hope of climbing to higher positions. It really does allow for growth within the company, as the only thing that will stop you is yourself. In all honesty, Orion has helped me attain a position that is a dream job.
