Go to end ⇓We are seeking a First Line Manufacturing Manager to lead frontline production teams supporting the assembly of the 787 Dreamliner at our South Carolina facility in North Charleston.
In this role, you will oversee manufacturing operations, lead production teams, and ensure safety, quality, and delivery targets are met within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production challenges, improve efficiency, and maintain high manufacturing standards.
This position plays a critical role in developing team members, driving operational performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise frontline manufacturing teams in a production environment.
- Execute daily production plans to support aircraft assembly operations.
- Ensure safety, quality, and production targets are consistently achieved.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Coach and develop employees to improve performance and technical capability.
- Monitor production processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles.
- Maintain a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or equivalent military experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a formal or informal supervisory role.
- Experience leading teams in a structured production environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to work variable shifts based on operational needs.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience (Final Assembly, Structures, Interiors, or Flight Test).
- Experience supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience implementing Lean or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- FAA A&P Certification.
