Description

The Field Service Technician is the boots-on-the-ground expert who installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains company's hardware and connectivity infrastructure at customer sites. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently in the field, thrives on solving problems in real time, and can travel regularly to support deployments across a multi-state territory. You'll be a critical link between company's engineering teams and the customers relying on our technology every day.


What You'll Do:
  • Install, configure, and commission company gateways, sensors, and related hardware at customer sites (warehouses, distribution centers, retail locations, and manufacturing facilities)
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, connectivity, and network issues on-site and remotely
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and preventive service on deployed equipment
  • Partner with customer IT/facilities teams to ensure proper network integration and site readiness
  • Document all site visits, installations, and service tickets thoroughly and accurately
  • Provide clear, professional communication with customers before, during, and after site visits
  • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering and support teams as needed, while providing on-the-ground context
  • Manage your own scheduling and logistics across a multi-site travel territory
  • Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment needed for field visits
  • Represent company professionally as the face of the company during customer interactions
What You'll Need:
  • 2+ years of experience in field service, hardware installation, low-voltage/network cabling, IT support, or a related technical field
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, basic troubleshooting of connectivity issues)
  • Comfort working with hand tools, ladders, and hardware installation in warehouse/industrial environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot independently under time pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to travel 30–50%, including some short-notice trips, and flexibility with scheduling
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must be based in or near Dallas, TX or Bentonville, AR
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse/distribution center environments (varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical demands)
Nice-To-Have Skills, Experience, & Education:
  • Experience with IoT, RFID, or wireless sensor technologies
  • Prior experience supporting retail, logistics, or supply chain customers
  • CompTIA Network+, A+, or similar technical certification
  • Experience using ticketing/CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk)
