Description

A global leader in advanced manufacturing technology is seeking Technical Support Engineers to support complex, highly sophisticated electrical, electronic, optical, mechanical, and automated systems deployed by leading technology manufacturers worldwide. In this role, you will serve as a technical escalation resource, diagnosing and resolving complex equipment failures that extend beyond standard troubleshooting procedures. Working closely with customers, field service teams, and engineering organizations, you will lead advanced troubleshooting and equipment recovery efforts, identify root causes, and implement solutions that enhance system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, optical, electromechanical, and software-controlled systems.
  • Conduct advanced fault isolation, root-cause analysis, and equipment recovery activities to resolve challenging technical issues.
  • Support equipment installations, system upgrades, relocations, modifications, and other technical service activities.
  • Partner with engineering, product support, field service, and technical specialist teams to resolve escalated equipment issues.
  • Travel to customer facilities throughout North America and internationally to provide on-site technical support as required.
  • Develop detailed technical reports, troubleshooting procedures, service documentation, and corrective action plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to customers and internal teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, service effectiveness, and problem resolution.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, & Education

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex technical equipment.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve failures at the component, subsystem, and system levels.
  • Experience troubleshooting integrated systems incorporating optical, electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, computer-control, and software components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform structured fault isolation and determine underlying root causes rather than simply address symptoms.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including field service, product support, engineering, and technical specialists.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical findings, prepare service reports, and deliver technical training.
  • A customer-focused, solutions-oriented approach when addressing urgent equipment failures and high-impact operational issues.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%, including domestic and international travel.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This opportunity is ideally suited for engineers and technicians who excel at hands-on troubleshooting, complex equipment repair, and advanced technical problem-solving. The successful candidate is someone who thrives on diagnosing difficult failures, isolating underlying causes, and restoring sophisticated systems to full operational capability. The ideal candidate is the technical resource others rely on when equipment is down, conventional troubleshooting methods have been exhausted, and a deeper level of technical expertise is required.
