Orion Talent is helping a client hire an Operations/ Compliance Engineer in Redding, CA.

Position: Operations/Compliance Engineer (operational based position, start as soon as possible)

Position Description: Perform specialized professional, technical, and analytical functions in a variety of operational areas including transmission and compliance to ensure safe operation of transmission assets and compliance requirements are met including coordinate and evaluate day ahead and real time operation studies with balancing areas and adjacent transmission operators; provide operational directions to System Operators within legal and established policy constraints and work to ensure the reliable operation of the transmission/distribution system for the Transmission Operations Area.

Location: Redding, CA

Salary: $123,588-$160,680

Shift: 9/80 work schedule with afterhours response

Travel: Less than 10% for training purposes.3 times a year for 1-2 days for training.

Qualifications:



Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Typical education would include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in electrical engineering.
Typical experience would include three to five years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in power operations engineering or transmission system planning and load flow analysis.
Professional registration in Electrical Engineering in the State of California, or in another state that has reciprocity with California, and must obtain California registration within one year of employment. comany policies, procedures, and other special agreements; principles and practices of economic analyses of projects and programs
Principles and practices of program evaluation
Principles and practices of various analytical approaches
Techniques and practices for resolving complex technical issues
principles, practices, and procedures related to power system operation, power system theory, thermal and hydroelectric generation, and load management dispatch
Systems and concepts related to economic operation of a power system
Planning and design techniques; principles related to short circuit evaluations, generator unit efficiency and capability characteristic
WECC/NERC Reliability Standards and requirements
AC transmission systems; safety policies, practices, and procedures; methods and techniques for report preparation and writing
Operation of modern office equipment including a computer, scanners, and applicable software; English grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary standards.
