Summary

A Controls Specialist (CS) is responsible for installation, commissioning, scheduled and emergency service on products serviced by Fairbanks Morse Defense commensurate with appropriate certification. Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • ROLE
    • Controls Specialist conducts installation, testing, and troubleshooting services for the controls systems on FMD engine lines 
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
    • Ability to diagnose problems and develop solutions for qualified engines
    • Can work independently on qualified engines
    • May occasionally be assigned to shop duties such as general machining, part inspections, assembly, testing, and warehouse.

Position Description

Position Summary:
The Safety Coordinator supports the company’s commitment to Zero Incident worksites by minimizing job-related risks, enforcing safe practices, and promoting health and safety awareness at construction sites. This role involves frequent on-site presence and collaboration with field staff and General Contractor partners to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily field operations and perform site audits.
  • Stay current on safety regulations; conduct new hire safety orientations.
  • Ensure Foremen adhere to safety policies and legal standards.
  • Direct accident investigations, maintain incident records, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Organize and deliver training (forklift, aerial lift, fall protection, confined space, etc.).
  • Develop site-specific safety manuals, work plans, and job hazard analyses.
  • Attend safety committee meetings and verify weekly site safety meetings.
  • Address safety issues directly with crews and customers as needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in safety coordination on construction job sites.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • Ability to travel locally between sites daily.

Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, test, and overhaul production equipment, focusing on PDUs, switchgear, and RPPs. Support packaging room operations as needed. Install new tools and maintain existing systems for peak performance.
Requirements:
  • 5–10 years’ electro-mechanical maintenance experience; strong preference for Active-Duty Military background (Aviation, FC, Nuke, ET, EM)
  • Proven troubleshooting, testing, and installation skills
  • Experience with power distribution systems testing a plus
  • Senior technician or supervisory experience preferred
