SUMMARY 
Provide mechanical design and engineering support for manufacturing. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Designs and implements new mechanical systems and subsystems according to approved specifications.
  • Participates in the development of product requirements, specifications, and schedules.
  • Conducts feasibility studies of various designs to determine functionality and reliability.
  • Performs troubleshooting of designs in conjunction with other cross-functional team members.
  • Works with the project management team on scheduling, improvements, and resolving design issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend design changes and specifications when necessary.
  • Conduct, coordinate, and/or supervise the product design, verification, and validation with various internal and external sources to meet product milestones.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of design development, including verification and validation.
  • Lead and participate in technical design reviews.
  • Capable of all aspects of engineering design from concepts to detailed drawings and 3D models using Solid Works.
  • Perform structural analysis as necessary utilizing SolidWorks Simulation.
  • Prepare specifications, data sheets, and drawings as necessary.
  • Review vendor proposals and drawings.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET certified institution required
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience with mechanical design
  • 3+ years Solid Works or expert knowledge of other 3D CAD modeling systems
  • Experience with SolidWorks Simulation a plus
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles
  • Practical knowledge of machinery product design, verification, and validation processes and methods.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with a team & interface with multiple departments
