Job Description

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for installing new equipment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and completing emergency repairs at customer sites. This role serves as a primary technical resource for customers and supports strong client relationships through timely service, accurate documentation, and professional communication. The position requires extensive travel and the ability to work independently in the field while coordinating with internal teams.


Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical discipline or comparable military experience preferred
  • 2–4 years of experience in a similar technical or field service role
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair complex industrial equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and electronic documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet-based tools
  • Ability to accurately document service activities, technical data, and repair actions
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven customer service skills with a strong focus on customer relationships
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than two minor moving violations in three years and no major violations in the last seven years)
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 90%, including domestic and international travel


Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Experience servicing laser cutting or laser machining equipment (e.g., BLM, Trumpf, Amada, Mazak, or similar)
  • Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment
  • Familiarity with I/O structures for technical troubleshooting
  • Fluency in Italian
  • Prior experience supporting sales teams with technical demonstrations or customer training
