Position Summary:
Seeking a hands-on, service-oriented technician with a desire to grow into a Field Service Engineer (FSE) role. This position involves ATS startups, modifications, and handling warranty/emergency service calls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently perform ATS preventive maintenance, startup, and basic troubleshooting
- Understand and verify communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP) for Russelectric equipment
- Write Method of Procedures (MOPs) for ATS modifications/startups
- Provide timely, professional field reports to customers and internal stakeholders
- Accurately track time and expenses
- Assist with installation of 480VAC/12.47KVAC systems, ATS, switchgear, circuit breakers, and generator controls
- Support field startups, warranty repairs, and preventive maintenance contracts
- Ensure safety compliance on all job sites
- Remain on-call 24/7 as needed
- Provide technical support and client communication with strong customer service focus
- Negotiate scope changes and associated charges
- Travel requirement: Up to 80%
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years in Field Service Engineering
- Training in electrical theory/technologies or relevant military experience
- Experience with power distribution, AC/DC systems, and voltage circuit theory
- Diesel power generation controls experience (including paralleled systems)
- Strong electrical background: low voltage to medium voltage systems
- Schematic and blueprint reading for power/automation systems
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years Field Service Engineering experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong ATS (Automated Transfer Switches) knowledge
- Familiarity with industry codes/standards
- Effective in client relations and project management
- Excellent decision-making and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with strong customer satisfaction commitment
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
