Position Description:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled On-Site Air Separation Plant Technician to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of nitrogen-producing plants at customer sites in the Malta, NY area. This hands-on role involves operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining air separation equipment and supporting systems.
We are seeking a dependable and skilled On-Site Air Separation Plant Technician to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of nitrogen-producing plants at customer sites in the Malta, NY area. This hands-on role involves operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining air separation equipment and supporting systems.
Technicians work independently with minimal supervision and are backed by a team of engineers, lead technicians, and technical staff. Candidates should have strong mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process control experience.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance at assigned facilities
- Operate and maintain equipment such as compressors, gas analyzers, control systems, and pneumatic valves
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues to ensure maximum plant uptime
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance and site audits
- Record maintenance and compliance activities through process control systems
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees as needed
- Respond to after-hours emergencies and support additional plant sites if required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred)
- 2–5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Air separation or other complex process control environments
- Industrial maintenance involving mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems
- HVAC or relevant military engineering roles (e.g., Machinist Mates, Electrician Mates, Gas Turbine Technicians)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with FIX 32 or other process control software is a plus
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders/stairs, and work in various environmental conditions
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
