Senior Hydraulic Technician – Raleigh, NC

Schedule: Four-day work week | 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Senior Hydraulic Technician performs complex diagnostics, advanced repairs, and complete overhauls of hydraulic systems and components. Responsible for ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and full overhauls on hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders
  • Conduct precision measuring of all dimensions to 0.001” accuracy
  • Interpret and troubleshoot using complex hydraulic schematics and technical data
  • Identify required parts and complete disassembly, repair, and reassembly of hydraulic components
  • Test completed assemblies for functionality
  • Operate Microfinishing and Honing machines
  • Remove and install hydraulic components on vehicles
  • Perform routine housekeeping of work areas and tools
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor
  • Support other areas of the hydraulic shop as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to safely operate service vehicles
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hydraulic system expertise
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Comfortable using a computer


Experience Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in hydraulic maintenance and repair
  • Experience with hydraulic components (cylinders, pumps, motors, valves)
  • Familiarity with truck-mounted hydraulic systems
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to follow repair procedures


Physical & Work Conditions:

  • Frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 75 lbs
  • Work in dusty, humid, and outdoor environments
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
  • Occasional climbing and balancing
  • Standing/walking for extended periods in a shop environment


Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • Overtime, weekend, and holiday work as needed
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Must pass pre-employment testing
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • English proficiency required (reading and speaking)
